Studio
What is a studio but a place of creation
and everyone has their own creation story.
Unlike the Big Bang when something was
created from nothing in the vast void of space
our spaces of creation come from functionality.
They should have some color, soothing hues
and shades, maybe soft rusts and muted greens
like the cycle of trees, a comfortable chair
a wooden stove, the artist’s tools, some of the artist’s
works as reminder of good work past and hope to come.
It should be a space where memory is allowed
to flow, where walls disappear into whatever
the artist dreams and in the companionship
of the artist’s lasting friend, “only solitude is
a lasting friend.”
