Good Morning
On the table, a newspaper and tea pot
make their dominance known but there is no
food, only empty vessels, a cup, a bowl, a vase.
No flowers in the aquamarine vase.
Severed, divided, separated, split, the images
appear as a collage. The angles advise
“lean into the day’s hard edge.” The curves
suggest the hope and comfort of resolution.
The message might be, only writers are able
to start their day with so little or is it simply
the presentation of reductionism, taking things
apart to understand the whole.
