Audacious
I like stripes
the brash contrast between one thing and another
the light and dark, black and white, two distinctly
different colors, the sudden transition that wakes
one up to all sorts of newness with the brazen longevity
of contrast, the bold and blatant, bald-faced and brash
no sfumato, no subtle melting of tones
no elimination of any perceptible lines or edges.
One never has to ask which is background
which, forefront. So, “I’ll never ask a zebra
about stripes again.” I just like stripes.
